Current Status
The current
version of the VSIPL API is 1.02, issued February 26, 2002. This update
corrects a number of minor errata. A list of changes in included
on pages 678 and 679 of the document.
VSIPL API 1.1 is available
for public
review and comment. Comments are due November 15, 2002.
December 2002
Forum Meeting
The next forum
meeting will be held December 11, 2002 at MIT Lincoln Lab, Lexington,
MA in conjunction with the HPEC-SI meeting. VSIPL Forum will come out
of "maintenance mode" and meet for initial consideration of
a C++ binding proposal.

August 2001
Forum Meeting
The Forum discussed details
of the 1.01 upgrades as well as a number of errata. Coordination
with the High Performance Embedded Computing Software initiative (HPEC-SI;
http://www.tasp.org/HPEC-SI/)
was reviewed. Numerous planning details of the VSIPL User's Group
meeting were discussed. For more details, see the minutes.
March 2001 Forum
Meeting
The forum approved
the VSIPL 1.01 document, encompassing minor corrections to the VSIPL 1.0
API, by unanimous vote of the institutions present. Also considered
a revised approach to image processing, additional linear algebra functions,
and I/O functions. For more details, see the minutes.
January 2001
Forum Meeting
At the January
2001 meeting, the forum reviewed a draft of the VSIPL 1.01 standard and
considered functionality for VSIPL 1.1. Robert Graybill of DARPA gave a
talk on the Polymorphous Computing Architecture program, and Ed Baranoski
of MIT Lincoln Laboratory described a new embedded software standardization
initiative. James Lebak, Rick Pancoast, and Mark Richards were elected
co-chairs by acclamation. For more details, see the minutes.
July 2000 Forum
Meeting
VSIPL Forum met at SKY Computers,
Inc., in Chelmsford, MA, 25-26 July. Worked through v1.0 errata. Discussed
API document maintenance. Prioritized Journal of Development items. Updated
on Test Suite for Core Lite profile and discusses extending Test Suite.
Had a presentation by Chip
Weems of UMass/Amherst on image processing. See the minutes
